This was my mixed media piece. I love this piece. I love the pinks, the purples, the neutral shades, the flowers on the paper and the flower sticking out. I think this is so me. It is a peaceful and happy mood and theme. I think it's just so cute. It's me because it has flowers and colors that I love. It also has sparkles on the flower which I thought was really cute. I wouldn't change anything about these. I maybe could've added more but I thought it turned out really well.

I chose to do the sleeping beauty castle for print making. You can seen the side walk, the entrance, and most of the front of the castle. I used white, pink, light blue, navy, and turquoise in this print. The entrance stands out to me because of all of the pop of turquoise that you see. The mood of this work is probably peace. For me, anyways, because I love Disney and I love these colors so when I look at this I just peaceful and happy. If someone else looks at this, they might think that happy is the theme because of the colors and seeing the place it is. I was so excited that Ms. Rossi let me do the castle for this project. I think the colors and the lines look pretty good but I wish I would've lined up the prints better each time I printed. It was really hard to get tiny lines carved into the linoleum and to keep the paint out of the lines when I was paint on it. It was also hard to line up the prints without smudging or getting finger prints on it. I over all didn't really like this project. I thought it was frustrating. I liked carving it but the lines and lining it up was not fun.
LizzieHow did you use your own unique ideas in your work?
For my work, I used my own ideas with the different colors. I used colors that you didn't necessarily see in the actual image to depict lights and darks. I used light purple and light blue in some parts to show lights and I used dark purple in the areas that would usually be black so the black wouldn't over take the painting. I used red for the back ground to make the image pop. Did you use an inspiration and combine with your own ideas? I used the idea of pointillism for my art work and in some parts I actually painted a solid Color and went back over it with different color dots to make sure the brown wouldn't show through in some parts. Like the pink in the stomach I painted fully pink and went back with white and light gray dots. Did you learn new techniques? I feel like I say this a lot but I always learn different colors you can use for the lights and darks. It's so fun using colors that aren't in the picture to depict the different values. It's also fun pairing complimentary colors together and seeing how well they look together when you are done. I was nervous using blue and purple but I think they turned out so well. Ms. Rossi gave everyone a small part of a bigger art piece and this is what I painted. It didn't look exactly like the picture she gave but I think over all I did pretty well.
this is the in progress photos of my clay. I sculpted the cake pops and make the box for them. I'm letting them dry on my shelf. Next we are going to put them in the kiln. this is my final clay project.
How did you use your own unique ideas in your work?
I love this piece so much. I added different colors than the actual picture and I really made it my own. I used all of the colors I love the most and I tried to push the values. I used purple for the leaf instead of green and I made the veins white with some light green and I used dark purple towards the stem. I just really like how it turned out. Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project? I feel like in every project, I say I should've pushed the values but that's what I feel like here. I wish I would have made the purple darker but at the same time I feel like some of the brown paper showing through, makes it more leaf like. I learned how to do the shadow pretty well and making it darker in the stems. I learned how to use colors you don't see in the actual picture to show highlights and lowlights. Did someone help you understand important information or inspire you? Mrs. Rossi inspired me a lot in this project. She showed me that using colors you don't normally see can make the work so unique. She showed me how to push values. This was the water color we worked on in class. I like water color but had a hard time with high lights. This was the water color pencils. This is the prisma color Apple we did in class. I love them so much. I love prisma. This is the prisma color Apple we did in class. I love them so much. I love prisma. This is the prisma color Apple we did in class. I love them so much. I actually love my apple. I know my shadow was too dark but I love the apple itself. I love how I did the darks with purple and I love the highlight of the Apple. Next time I would just use a lighter color for the shadow. Or maybe I brighter highlight. The apple looks a little like a tomato but I just love the colors. I also love the way I blended the colors. |
